Swagatam, Tansi, Welcome:
As we join together in worship we acknowledge that we live on Turtle island, land that creator brought out of the waters so all could have life. Turtle island is the traditional territory of Anishinaabeg, Cree, Oji-Cree, and Dakota peoples, and the homeland of the Metis Nation.
Gathering Together in Singing:
MV18 Lord, Prepare Me to Be a Sanctuary
Lord, prepare me to be a sanctuary
Pure and holy, tried and true
With thanksgiving I’ll be a living
Sanctuary for you
MV14 Where Two or Three Are Gathered
Where two or three are gathered in my name
I am there, I am there.
Welcome and Announcement
Singing: MV1 Let Us Build a House
- Let us build a house where love can dwell
And all can safely live,
A place where saints and children tell
How hearts learn to forgive.
Built of hopes and dreams and visions,
Rock of faith and vault of grace;
Here the love of Christ shall end divisions:
All are welcome, all are welcome
All are welcome in this place. R
- Let us build a house where prophets speak,
And words are strong and true;
Where all God’s children dare to seek
To dream God’s reign anew.
Here the cross shall stand as witness
And as symbol of God’s grace;
Here as one we claim the faith of Jesus: R
- Let us build a house where love is found in water,
Wine and wheat; a banquet hall on
Holy ground, where peace and justice meet.
Here the love of God, through Jesus,
Is revealed in time and space;
As we share in Christ the feast that frees us: R
- Let us build a house where hands will reach beyond
The wood and stone to heal and strengthen,
Serve and teach, and live the word they’ve known.
Here the outcast and the stranger bear the image of God’s face;
Let us bring an end to fear and danger; R
- Let us build a house where all are named,
Their songs and visions heard
And loved and treasured,
Taught and claimed as words within the Word
Built of tears and cries and laughter,
Prayers of faith and songs of grace;
Let this house proclaim from floor to rafter: R
Opening Prayer (from Psalm 23) (written by Ted Dodd)
Gracious God,
you care for me; I need nothing more.
Not more worry,
Not more hurt,
Not more privilege or productivity,
Not to have my perspective prevail.
You lead me into a haven of peace and rest.
In the midst of pandemic and mass shootings,
you call me to non-anxious presence,
to prayerful reflection,
to spirit-filled breathing.
You breathe new life into me and lead me in new ways.
Restore my soul.
Lift my vision.
Guide my life.
You are with me, and comfort me,
even when the way of the world seems lost.
And so, I pray for the planet,
its leaders,
those on the frontlines,
those grieving,
those afraid,
those alone.
In the face of those who trouble me
you provide for me and pour out your blessings.
Grant me steady patience.
Grant me holy impatience.
Grant me the discernment to know when which is needed and which is faithful.
God of justice and compassion you are with me always
and have promised to sustain me all my life.
Gratitude for all the blessings.
Appreciation for all that is sacred.
Thanksgiving for this life.
Singing: VU626 I Heard the Voice of Jesus Say
- I heard the voice of Jesus say,
“Come unto me and rest;
Lay down, O weary one, lay down
Your head upon my breast.”
I came to Jesus as I was,
Weary and worn and sad;
I found in him a resting place,
And he has made me glad.
- I heard the voice of Jesus say,
“Behold, I freely give
The living water; thirsty one,
Stoop down, and drink, and live.”
I came to Jesus, and I drank
Of that life-giving stream;
My thirst was quenched, my soul revived,
And now I live in him.
- I heard the voice of Jesus say,
“I am this dark world’s light;
Look unto me, your morn shall rise,
And all your day be bright.”
I looked to Jesus, and I found
In him my star, my sun;
And in that light of life I’ll walk
Till travelling days are done.

Our Father, who art in heaven,
hallowed be thy Name,
thy kingdom come,
thy will be done,
on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread.
And forgive us our trespasses,
as we forgive those
who trespass against us.
And lead us not into temptation,
but deliver us from evil.
For thine is the kingdom,
and the power, and the glory,
for ever and ever. Amen.
Singing: VU 747 The Lord’s My Shepherd
- The Lord’s my Shepherd, I’ll not want,
he makes me down to lie in pastures green, he
leadeth me, the quiet waters by.
- My soul he doth restore again;
and me to walk doth make within the paths of
righteousness, even for his own name’s sake.
- Yea, though I walk in death’s dark vale,
yet will I fear no ill, for thou art with me;
and thy rod and staff me comfort still.
- My table thou has furnished
in presence of my foes; my head thou dost with
oil anoint, and my cup over flows.
- Goodness and mercy all my life
shall surely follow me, and in God’s house for
ever more my dwelling place shall be.

Communion Prayer
God is with us!
We are not alone!
Lift up your hearts.
We lift them up to God.
Let us give thanks to the Lord our God.
It is right to give our thanks and praise.
God seeks to be in communion with us, and wills that we be in communion with one another….And so we rejoice proclaiming the glory of Christ’s name, saying:
Holy, holy, holy are you.
Holy, holy, blessed are you.
Reminding us of this union of body and spirit, Jesus took a loaf of bread…..What we symbolize here in this holy space, we make real by our service when we go forth from this place.
Breaking the Bread, Pouring the Cup
The body of Christ,
the bread of life.
The lifeblood of Christ,
the cup of blessing.
The gifts of God for the people of God.
Thanks be to God!

Faithful when we hear Christ’s call.
